INCA TRAIL 2 DAYS

INTRODUCTION:

This is an ideal alternative to the longer, 4-day hike. This hike is perfect for visitors without a lot of time and it also demands less physical effort than the full Inca Trail. On this hike, you can take in beautiful landscapes, exotic valleys, flora and fauna and archeological centers, all with one of our professional guides. And of course, you will have the unforgettable experience of walking through the sun gate and down to one of the wonders of the world, MACHUPICCHU.

Itinerary:
DAY 1: CUSCO – WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU

We will pick you up very early from your hotel in one of our private vehicles and drop you and a professional guide off at the train station San Pedro where we will begin our journey. On the train, the guide will begin to point out different mountains and landscapes and introduce you to the valley. After two hours, we will get off the train at the trailhead at the marker “104 km.” After a short rest, we will begin our hike. The first archaeological center that we will visit is CHACHABAMBA at 7,380 feet (2,250 meters). Then, we will gradually ascend for approximately three hours, towards the fascinating archaeological WIÑAYWAYNA site at 8,690 feet (2,650 m). Here, we will learn about the site, enjoy the its charm and have lunch. After resting, we will continue through the semi-tropical forest towards INTIPUNKU (the Sun Gate), the place where we will enjoy the first panoramic view of the citadel of MACHUPICCHU. You will have time to take in the impressive mountains and deep valleys that surround the Sun Gate. You can also see the URUBAMBA River from the gate. From INTIPUNKU, we will descend for 30 minutes towards MACHUPICCHU and upon arrival to the city, we will rest and take pictures. Then, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night. If you would like, you can also soak in the medicinal hot springs in the town.

DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

On the second day, we will wake up very early to take the first bus to the city of MACHUPICCHU, where we will be the first visitors of the day to enjoy the magic and mystery of one of the wonders of the world. The tour with your guide will take around 2-3 hours. After, you will have free time to explore the entire city on your own. In the afternoon, we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to board the train to Cusco.

TESTIMONIALS

Inca Trail 4 days
March 17, 2011

Jose was a very knowledgeable guide. His history lessons were very interesting and is always willing to help others along the trail. Couldn’t have made it without him. The food was nothing I have ever tasted and experienced. Highly recommend. The porters provided the best service I’ve ever experienced in any industry.  Amazed by their hard work along the trail. Humbled by their work. Equipment all functional. Amazing food flavors and fresh ingredients always something new each day. The train ride was and added tour of the mountains. We enjoyed the trip very much thanks to a great experience by Jose and the porters.  Highly recommend their services.
