Inca Trail 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS

 

The Inca Trail is the most popular trek in the Andes and the most famous in the world. What it has as an adventure that makes it so special is its richness and diversity. INKA sites, unforgettable views, passing snowy mountains and jungle cloud forests where the exotic vegetation includes one hundred varieties of Orchids. This trek encompasses an extraordinary ecological variety. MACHUPICCHU itself cannot be fully understood without the experience of the Inca Trail. Its principle sites are ceremonial in character, apparently in ascending hierarchical order as you near the city. This INKA province was a unique area of elite access The trail is essentially a work of spiritual art, like a gothic cathedral, and walking the trail was formally an act of devotion. The four days of hiking covers about twenty eight miles, starting at an elevation of 8400 feet and ending at 7800 feet above sea level you must cross two high mountain passes with a maximum elevation of thirteen thousand feet. Trail conditions are generally good on this ancient byway. The guides are professional, Knowledgeable, and English speaking who can explain the significance and the history of the Trail We use excellent equipment and serve nutritional meals, and your porters are also happy and helpful.

 

TRIP ITINERARY:

 

Day 1.- CUSCO / KM82 / LLACTAPATA.- We will Pick you up very early from your hotel in the morning and we will transfer you to kilometer 82, where we will begin our trek. This day is quite gentle, we will continue along the banks of the river URUBAMBA appreciating the flora and fauna of the area and the mountains with big glaciers. We will arrive at our camp where and we will visit the archaeological center of LLACTAPATA that has some impressive architecture.

 

Day 2.-LLACTAPATA – LLULLUCHAPAMPA.- after breakfast we will continue ascending slightly to the semi-tropical valley for two hours we are at HUAYLLABAMBA village (3000m) the last village along the Inca Trail. There We’ll take advantage of a rest and lunch, then we begin our ascent, the first two hours we will walk among abundant vegetation with trees of wild origin, because of reason it is known by many as the highest forest in the world as well as landscapes, the flora and fauna at 3800m.Then we will arrive to our campsite (3800m)

 

Day 3.-LLULLUCHAPAMPA - CHAQUICOCHA.- After breakfast we will continue with our ascent toward the high pass of WARMIWAÑUSCCA. (4200m) the journey is across typical Andean mountain covered with ichu or straw, mountains with perpetual snow. After an arduous walk of approximately 2 hours will arrive to the high point, from there we will observe the beauty of the deep valleys, roads and archaeological centers and with luck we will see the flight of the condors and we will pass among the thick clouds an it fences . After a well deserved rest we will descend toward the valley of PACCAYMAYU(3500m), then we’ll continue with the ascent to visit the archaeological center of RUNCURACCAY located in a very strategic place that underlook astronomical observations, One hour later we will arrive to the second pass at 3800 m, from where we will observe lagoons, the beginning of the forest brow as we descend. We will be able to appreciate how the valley opens up. In a tropical area the archaeological center of SAYACMARCA is situated and after visit we will go to our camp.

 

Day 4- CHAQUICOCHA – PUENTE RUINAS.- This day will be interesting, the great part is the original Inca trail that challenges us at the time, a trail that is perfectly preserved by the time, complete with stairways and Inca tunnels, and observatories, the forest brow with abundant flora and fauna a large variety of orchids and a lot of variety of birds will arrive this way to the third pass (3600m) and we will visit the archaeological center of PHUYUPATAMARCA of there we continue to descend to the archaeological but fascinating center of our journey WIÑAYWANA (2650m) that means YOUNG ETERNAL, built with a spectacular location, there we take advantage of our lunch to continue to the SUNGATE there we will go toward our final destination in the freshness of forest brow after a hour of walk we will arrive to sungate of where we will have the first very impressive view of the enigmatic citadel of surrounded MACHUPICCHU of mountains covered with vegetation, valleys, rivers. After a rest we will descend toward the same citadel to locate us in the superior part to take pictures then we will descend in bus toward our camp at the puente ruinas near to (Aguas Calientes).

 

Day 5- MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO.- We will take the first bus toward the citadel of MACHUPICCHU for our guided visit, at 6:00AM o'clock without a lot of people around 3-2 hours, after the visit we will have a free time to explore alone inside of and around the citadel, in the afternoon we will descend toward AGUAS CALIENTES to take our train back to Cusco.
