Jose Antonio was great, the best guide I ever had: He took care of everybody, he hada huge knowledge about history and culture of the Inkas and Machu Picchu, as well as landscapes, flowers and fauna amazing. Elias and Juvenal were really friendly very talented. Great Cooks, they responded to my vegetarian needs. Porters were absolutely lovely and very friendly. Great to get in touch with them during the trip. Tents were spacious and comfortable. We stayed dry despite of a lot of rain. Great to have a tent to eat and be together. Food was delicious and very, very much. (too much I’d say). I got vegetarian food and it was amazing and very creative. Transport and transfer was fine. Antonio was very helpful with changing the train ticket. The atmosphere between the staff was really good. Thank you very much for the good trip.

Antonio was the best guide one could wish for. He knew so much about the Quechua and the Peruvian fauna & flora. He was very professional. Elia’s food was great. It was delicious and different every day. It was amazing what he could prepare in his tent. The porters were great. They were really friendly and helpful all the time. It was great getting to know them. The tents were good. The tents for eating were big enough to fit all participants. This was the best food I ever had on a trip! It was delicious and with a great variety. It was just a little too much (in a good way). Everything worked out just fine. We were picked up at the hostel on the first day in the morning and brought to the bus station to catch a night bus to Bolivia after the trip.

Edgar – very motivational; has extensive & informative knowledge of the Incas, Peruvian culture, archaeology, biology and trekking in general. Edgar had a great sense of humor, was encouraging and was the perfect leader for the group. Roly was very creative in preparing all our meals. The food was fresh, healthy & flavorsome. He was fantastic in creating vegetarian options & we loved “Happy Hour”. Porters: Camilo, Juan, Lorenzo, Zacharias, Cyrillo, Nemesio & Chullo The porters were fantastic – working as a team & always professional. They were always well organized with camp set-up & meals. It was lovely that they provided a cup of tea in bed in the morning plus water to wash your hands before meals. Always friendly with a smile on their face. All equipment was clean and suitable for the trek. Food was delicious and full quantities; we never went hungry. Enjoyed tasting some Peruvian food; great vegetarian options. Roly and team did an amazing job! Transport and Transfer was punctual, comfortable. The team always kept us informed throughout. Nice to have a pick up at the bus station. We chose Wayki Trek as it is under Indigenous management & is this was very important to us. The small group size provided us the opportunity to get to know our team. We were made to feel like a family. Thank you all!!

Antonio, the guide, - we had such a good time, talking, joking, playing cards together, etc. Incredible how much he could tell us about flora, fauna, history, Inca sites, etc. – like a living encyclopedia. The cook Elias was amazing! We always wondered how it was possible to prepare such great meals with these extreme conditions. The highlight was the cake for the wedding anniversary, two of our group had on the last day. The porters were fast, friendly, shy, waking us up with hot water and tea singing for us and dancing cumbia with us. Good tents, mattresses, chairs, table…everything we needed. The food was the best and a lot, lot, lot…! Transport to km82 was in a quite, new, comfortable minibus, bus down from MP to Aguas Calientes included, we fell asleep immediately. Sulpayki (Thank you) Wayki! Thank you very much for everything.

Antonio was an excellent guide & his knowledge of the area, its history was just amazing. He was extremely friendly & couldn’t do enough to make our trip as good as it could be. I couldn’t believe how amazing food was – it tasted amazing & was also presented to perfection. I haven’t eaten that good in a long time! All the porters did and excellent job. They were very friendly & even sung for one night. All the equipment was in excellent condition. Very prompt transport & transfers, we didn’t have to wait for anything. Excellent tour. 100% recommend to anyone! If Wayki Trek could also manage the weather it would be pure perfection. Thank you for making my Inca experience so amazing, I will never forget it.

Can’t really think of any recommendations as I thought it was all so good.

Edgar/Fred, Flavio, and Jose were a super team on our Salkantay trek. Edgar/Fred was so patient as I gasped my way up the trail. He obviously loves his job and conveyed that to us. He was so knowledgeable and positive. Flabio was a marvel with the food and Jose efficiently packed our goods at each camp site and had everything set up and ready to go. Thanks for a fabulous experience. I will recommend your company to my friends without any reservations.

A remarkable trip. It had it all – fantastic knowledgeable guides, willing and able porters, incredible cook (wow!), not to mention a beautiful 4 days of hiking. Joseph Condor – would recommend him for his vast knowledge of the trail, history, ecosystems, and ability to tell horrible jokes and still make us laugh. J His passion for the trail was sensed by his unique ability to combine all elements in an easy to understand and enjoyable spirit. My main concern for this trek turned into my greatest enjoyment (other than the trail of course). Since I have specific food needs (gluten intolerance), I was delighted by the cook’s ability to make gourmet gluten-free meals. Bravo!

This trip was better than expected. Edgar’s knowledge of every aspect of the Inca Trail was impressive. He never missed a chance to teach us about history, local customs and courtesies, geology, fauna, and current efforts to preserve Inca Culture. He made this trip exceptional! I will always recommend Wayki Trek! Meals while hiking exceeded expectations. Other hikers even commented when they saw our meals that theirs’ didn’t come close.

This trek was so much more than I expected. I loved every second of it. Edwin was so patient and encouraging at all times and we had a great team spirit even though we were all at different fitness levels. The cooks and porters were incredible. They worked so hard to ensure we were confortable and well catered for and put us to shame when they had to walk such long distances with huge packs then set up the camps and had everything organized by the time we came stumbling in. I will be recommending Wayki Trek to anyone I know of who is considering doing the Inca Trail. Muchisimas gracias Wayki Trek! J
