TOUR TO THE SILLUSTANI COMPLEX - PUNO

This impressive archeological site is only 34 km (30 minutes) from Puno on the paved highway to Juliaca. The site contains the famous CHULLPAS, stone burial towers, some standing as tall as 39 feet (12 meters). These burial towers were used by the Collas and later by the Incas. From this archeological site, you will be able to see the beautiful Lake Umayo. In the vicinity, you can also see some Waru Waru, raised beds and irrigation chanels that the Incas used to protect crops from frost and floods. At the complex, you will also see wild guinea pigs, birds and other wildlife of the high Andes.

ITINERARY
We will pick you up from your hotel at 2:00 p.m. and drive approximately 40 minutes to the Sillustani Complex with the guide. After a thorough tour of the complex, we will return to Puno at 6:00 p.m. where we will drop you off at your hotel

TESTIMONIALS

Inca Trail 4 days
March 17, 2011

Jose was a very knowledgeable guide. His history lessons were very interesting and is always willing to help others along the trail. Couldn’t have made it without him. The food was nothing I have ever tasted and experienced. Highly recommend. The porters provided the best service I’ve ever experienced in any industry.  Amazed by their hard work along the trail. Humbled by their work. Equipment all functional. Amazing food flavors and fresh ingredients always something new each day. The train ride was and added tour of the mountains. We enjoyed the trip very much thanks to a great experience by Jose and the porters.  Highly recommend their services.
