International flights and the new security measures in Peru during March

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 174-2021-MTC / 01, the Peruvian government once again extended the ban on regular passenger flights to and from destinations with a flight time greater than eight hours and from Brazil until at least March 14 , a measure that was implemented in December when new strains of COVID-19 were infected.

The Peruvian government was gradually releasing restrictions for international flights starting in October, and based on flight time, the latter without any other precedent in the region, where operations from specific countries or regions have been directly prohibited or enabled.

As of October, the offer of seats and international flights in Peru began the road to recovery, but after the January peak, the values ​​have returned to a third of what they were until a year ago, before the outbreak of the pandemic.

The Jorge Chávez airport in Lima will then have an average of 354 international passenger flights per week during March, with an offer close to 70 thousand seats, according to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, a global aeronautical intelligence company.

Only two other airports will have international flights: Arequipa, receiving a weekly JetSMART flight from Santiago de Chile; and Trujillo, with three weekly flights also from Indigo Partners low-cost.

This is the complete list of scheduled international passenger flights that the airlines have scheduled for March in Peru. Given the dynamics of the pandemic, some operations may be canceled.

Frequencies may vary according to demand in certain weeks.

Clarifications

They allow the entry of nationals and residents of Peru.

They allow the entry of foreigners.

The entry into the territory of non-resident foreigners traveling from Brazil, Europe or South Africa, or who have made a stopover in said places, is suspended until March 14, 2021, regardless of the date on which they have been or made connection in these zones. This does not apply to Peruvian citizens and residents of Peru.

All passengers must present a negative RT-PCR test (Molecular Test) or antigen test, with a result issued a maximum of 72 hours prior to flight departure.

Passengers under twelve (12) years of age are exempt from submitting said tests and must have a certificate of good health.

Passengers who had COVID-19 may present an epidemiological and clinical discharge, accompanied by the initial diagnosis, which must be issued with more than 14 days. These documents replace the Molecular or Antigen Test.

Travelers whose final destination is Peru must carry out a 14-day quarantine at their declared address or lodgings. This does not apply to passengers who have international connections.

Every traveler entering Peru must complete the online form “Affidavit of Commitment to communicate to the Health Authority”, within 72 hours prior to the trip. Passengers must have the QR code generated digitally or in print to present it both in the country of origin and upon arrival in Peru. This form is individual.

They will be able to make international connections with a maximum time of 24 hours between flights and without leaving the international boarding area. Always carry the documentation required to enter the country of destination at hand.

For flights within Peru; They must have an Affidavit of Health declaration.

For flights within Peru; Children under 14 years of age may only travel accompanied by at least one of their parents or guardian, who must present an additional Affidavit.

For flights within Peru; Passengers over 65 years of age must also present an additional Affidavit.
