Satellite phones
Each one of our groups will carry a satellite phone for the entire duration of the trip for emergency communications with our office or for our travelers to use in case of their own personal emergencies.
Radio Communication
These have a 10km range and 8 frequencies for our guides, chefs and porters to communicate amongst themselves, allowing us to quickly respond to our clients’ needs. Additionally, the radios can be used to communicate with the Machu Picchu and Inca Trail park guards in case of emergency.
First aid kit
We carry a full complement of over-the-counter medication, including alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, tincture of iodine, germicidal soap, cotton, gauze, bandages, adhesive medical tape, surgical gloves, analgesics for muscle and stomach pain, antipyretics, anti-allergy medication, anti-inflammatories, oral rehydration salts, laxatives, burn cream, splints, blood pressure measuring devices, and thermometers. If you take prescription medication, you may carry your own drugs.
Oxygen tank and mask
Generic over the counter medicines for general use will be available during the expedition, as well as alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, iodine tincture, germicidal soap, cotton, gauzes, bandages, medical masking tape, surgical gloves, muscle and stomach analgesics, antipyretics, anti-allergy and anti-inflammatory drugs, rehydrating salts, laxatives, burn creams, limb immobilizers, tensiometers, and thermometers. You may bring your own medications if you have a medical prescription.
