We are focused on the health and education care projects with different indigenous communities. The commitment to our people and society is our greatest satisfaction. Since the beginning of our enterprise, more than 20 years ago, we work hard on the personal and professional development of our employees and of the rural population. As a result, many of our porters have been promoted to chefs and guides. Likewise, many of our guides have their own travel agencies today. Wayki School (Huayllaccocha)
The Wayki School operates in the community of Huayllaccocha, where the children reinforce what they learn in the local school. The classes here are in the evening, and our travelers on the Wayki Experience have the opportunity to meet and talk to them.
Construction of a Medical Post
With the collaboration of Wayki Trek, World Challenge, and the community, we were able to build a medical post in Chillipahua. This local population with limited resources now has a place to receive medical care. The health of our Waykis is essential to our development.
Spanish Teaching in Chaullaccocha
We are helping this community by teaching Spanish to the children, whose first language is Quechua. By doing this, we give them real tools they will need to get ahead in their future lives.
Cattle raising
Our goal is for each porter working in Wayki Trek to have a dairy cow, which ensures good nutrition for the little ones in their families. This represents an ardoudus engagement with our employee’s families with the expectation of forming future guides and tourism entrepreneurs.
