SOCIAL PROJECTS WITH REAL IMPACT

Each booking helps build a better future.

At Wayki Trek your journey also transforms lives. Part of every experience we share with our travelers is reinvested in social projects that address the real needs of Andean communities, education, health, nutrition, and community development. We work with transparency, purpose, and human connection. More than tourism, we create opportunities, cultivate dignity, and build bridges toward a fairer future. Because real impact isn’t a promise, it’s action.

1. Rural Libraries for Community Education

We create and supply libraries in Andean communities where many of our porters and their families live. These spaces are equipped with books, educational materials, and the presence of teachers who reinforce key subjects such as math, communication, literature, art, and languages. Local children now have a safe space to study and grow, breaking the barriers of limited access to rural education. Each library is a window to knowledge and a brighter future.

2. Construction of Medical Outposts in Communities

Health begins with access. Wayki Trek supports the construction of facilities for medical outposts in remote rural communities. This allows families to receive basic healthcare without traveling long distances. These outposts are managed in collaboration with local authorities and represent a concrete improvement in quality of life. We contribute to making well-being not a privilege, but a basic right accessible to all.

3. Infrastructure for Early Education and Communal Use

We know that a good start shapes a lifetime. That’s why we promote and support the construction of proper early education facilities in rural areas. These spaces also function as community centers for meetings, workshops, and social activities, strengthening local organization. In this way, we contribute to children’s development and to the social fabric, allowing school and community to come together under one roof.

4. Spanish Language Instruction in Quechua-speaking Communities

Many children in remote rural communities grow up speaking only Quechua, which creates difficulties when continuing education in urban areas. Wayki Trek promotes Spanish language instruction programs that help these children develop communication and comprehension skills in their second language. This project aims to break one of the main barriers to formal education access and foster more equitable opportunities from early childhood—without losing their mother tongue or cultural identity.

5. Dairy Cattle Raising for Child Nutrition

Nutrition is essential for child development. Wayki Trek supports the raising of dairy cows in Andean community households, ensuring access to fresh and nutritious milk. This initiative aims to improve nutrition for school-aged children, reduce malnutrition, and strengthen family food security. It also contributes to household economic development, as excess milk can be sold or transformed into other dairy.
At Wayki Trek, we believe in responsible tourism and are committed to community development.
