The 2-Day Inca Trail is ideal for couples who want to experience the magic of the Inca Trail in a more accessible, intimate way—sharing a sacred journey to Machu Picchu through the mystical Sun Gate.

Because of its great archaeological, cultural, and environmental value, access is limited to only 250 people per day, including visitors, guides, and authorized staff.

Important: As required by Peru’s Ministry of Culture, every traveler must obtain two mandatory permits:

• Official 2-Day Inca Trail Permit.
  
• Machu Picchu Entrance Ticket (limited to 4,600 people per day).

This dual requirement makes spaces sell out quickly, as thousands of travelers around the world request access to Machu Picchu each day. We highly recommend booking 6 to 10 months in advance, especially if you plan to travel during high season (May to October).

For each traveler, please provide:

• Full name (send a clear photo of your passport).
• Passport number and expiration date.

• Occupation (if you’re a student, attach a valid ID photo when booking).

2. Deposit to Confirm Your Reservation

• To secure your Inca Trail and Machu Picchu permits, a 50% deposit or full payment is required.
• The balance may be paid 15 days before the trek or in cash at our Cusco office after your pre-trek briefing.

• A deposit is required to reserve your spot.
• 50% or full payment upfront (transfer fees not included).
• For PayPal and Western Union, you must send proof of transaction (MTCN or ID). Without it, we cannot confirm your booking.
• Non-refundable: Once confirmed, permits are issued under your name and are personal, non-transferable, non-changeable, and non-refundable (Peruvian regulations).

Day 0: The Day Before – Private Briefing

Your day starts early with a private transfer from your hotel to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there, a scenic train ride will take you to Km 104, the starting point of your hike. As the train moves forward, the landscape turns into a living canvas: mountains, waterfalls, distant ruins, and the Urubamba River winding through lush vegetation.

Upon arrival, you’ll pass the official Inca Trail checkpoint and begin your journey. The first stop is Chachabamba, a ceremonial site nestled beside the river. From there, a gentle ascent begins through orchids, ferns, and birdsong, leading to Wiñay Wayna, one of the most stunning, and lesser-known, archaeological sites on the trail.

Here, you’ll take a well-earned break and enjoy your box lunch in front of ancient Inca terraces, surrounded by awe-inspiring beauty.

The second part of the trek leads through subtropical forest until you reach the legendary Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where Machu Picchu appears in all its glory for the first time, just as ancient pilgrims once saw it.

After time for contemplation, you’ll descend to the upper part of the citadel and take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where a matrimonial room at a 3★ hotel awaits you. If you wish, you can also relax in the local hot springs.

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes - Cusco

After breakfast, you’ll take one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu to witness the sunrise in a magical, tranquil atmosphere. The golden light on the stones, the lifting mist, and birdsong will surround you in this sacred moment.

During a private guided tour of 2 to 3 hours, you’ll explore the temples, terraces, plazas, and paths of this ancient city. Your guide will share stories, symbols, and deeper meanings that will enrich your experience.

3. Voluntary Tips

• Tips for guides and support staff are not included and entirely voluntary. If you feel the service was excellent, your kind gesture is always appreciated.
