Lares and Inca Trail 2 Days for Solo Explorers – Itinerary
A journey of immersion and self-discovery
Through living ancestral communities, sacred landscapes, and ancient Inca cities. At your own pace, with full support and space for introspection, you’ll arrive at Machu Picchu feeling stronger, more inspired, and deeply connected to yourself.
Day 0: Briefing and Wayki Experience (optional).
One day before the start of the hike, your tour begins with a Preparation Session with your expert guide to answer questions and ensure logistics. This ensures your peace of mind.
Day 1: Cusco – Ankasmarka – Lares Hot Springs – Wakawasi.
Cultural immersion and connection with yourself
You’ll begin your adventure heading into the mountains, crossing sacred valleys and villages that preserve their ancestral roots. In Ankasmarka, ancient Inca storage sites invite you to reflect on the ingenuity of a civilization and to pause time itself. At the Lares hot springs, you’ll enjoy a relaxing bath surrounded by silence and nature.
Accompanied by local muleteers and their llamas, you’ll begin the hike to Wakawasi, where you’ll spend the night in a local family home. Here, the connection with people and their way of life will be as revealing as the landscapes themselves. A warm, simple, and profoundly human welcome awaits.
Day 2: Wakawasi – Ipsaycocha Pass – Patakancha.
A physical challenge and an emotional reward
Today you’ll reach the highest point of the entire route, the Ipsaycocha Pass (4,420 m). The climb through high-altitude lakes, mountains, and open skies becomes a metaphor for your inner strength. Step by step, and at your own rhythm, you’ll overcome ascents and pauses—discovering a new part of yourself in each moment of rest.
The descent leads to the community of Patakancha, where time flows with the wisdom of Andean tradition. There, you’ll share experiences with local families and rest surrounded by stories woven into both wool and soul.
Day 3: Ollantaytambo – Km 104 – Wiñay Wayna – Aguas Calientes.
Inca Trail the mystical prelude
You’ll depart early toward Km 104, the starting point of the 2-Day Inca Trail. You’ll visit Chachabamba, an Inca site, and begin ascending through cloud forest until you reach Wiñay Wayna, one of the most magical places on the route. Surrounded by sacred terraces and lush nature, you’ll feel the harmony between spirit and landscape.
Later, you’ll arrive at Inti Punku – the Sun Gate, where Machu Picchu will appear before you in quiet majesty. This is your moment to contemplate the greatness of the world… and of yourself. You’ll then descend to Aguas Calientes for a night of well-deserved rest.
Day 4: Machu Picchu – Cusco.
The awakening in the sacred city
Early in the morning, you’ll enter Machu Picchu, while peace still lingers in its sacred corners. Alongside your guide, you’ll explore temples, plazas, and viewpoints—discovering the deep wisdom held in every stone.
In the afternoon, you’ll return to Cusco by train and private transport, with a lighter heart and a backpack full of lessons.
