Due to the Inca Trail’s protected status and high cultural value, access is limited to 500 people per day, including guides, porters, and cooks.

This capacity is shared across the 4-, 5-, and 6-day routes, making early reservations essential, especially in high season.

As of May 23, 2025, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture requires two separate permits:

• Salkantay and Inca Trail Permit
• Entrance Ticket to Machu Picchu (daily limit: 4,600 people)

Booking your couples’ adventure on the Inca Trail is simple. Follow these steps to confirm your space and prepare for a truly meaningful experience.

1. Personal Information Required (Per Traveler)

• Full name (send a clear photo of your passport)

2. Deposit to Confirm Your Booking

• To secure your permits, a 50% deposit or full payment is required in advance
• The remaining balance can be paid up to 15 days before the trek, or In cash at our Cusco office after your pre-trek briefing.

Deposit Terms

Please note:

• A deposit is required to secure your permits.
• The 50% or full advance does not include transfer fees.
• If using PayPal or Western Union, you must email your transaction receipt or MTCN code. Without it, we cannot confirm your booking.
• All permit purchases are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be changed once confirmed, this is in accordance with the Peruvian Ministry of Culture.
• You can pay 100% upfront to avoid handling cash in Cusco.

Day 0: Briefing + Wayki Experience (optional)

Afterward, you’ll participate in the Wayki Experience, an intimate visit to the porters’ community. Day 1: Soraypampa – Humantay Lake – Salkantaypampa – Ichupata

The adventure begins with an early pickup in Cusco. After breakfast beneath the towering peaks of Humantay and Salkantay, you’ll hike to the glacial Humantay Lake, nature’s mirror of turquoise serenity.

Continue to Ichupata, crossing the dramatic Vilcabamba mountain range. Camp under a sky full of stars, wrapped in the silence of the high Andes.

Day 2: Ichupata – Inkachiriasca Pass – Sisaypampa

Together, you’ll conquer the highest point of the entire trek, Inkachiriasca Pass (5,100 m). From the summit, take in breathtaking views of Salkantay and the distant Ausangate.

Day 3: Pampacahuana Canal – Paucarcancha – Wayllabamba – Ayapata
