INCA TRAIL 2 DAYS

A Short Route, a Thousand Emotions to Share

Experience the spirit of the legendary Inca Trail in a shorter yet deeply meaningful adventure. Hike through lush Andean cloud forest, surrounded by orchids, exotic birds, and stunning landscapes. Visit ancient sites like Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, where Inca history comes alive. The journey culminates at Inti Punku—the Sun Gate—with your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu, just like the ancient pilgrims. Ideal for those seeking history, nature, and authentic connection in a small, intimate group of 4 to 6 fellow explorers.

Availability & How to Book

A short, intense, and one-of-a-kind experience… with limited access

The Inca Trail 2 Days is a special, more accessible version of the ancestral route—perfect for those who dream of reaching Machu Picchu through the mystical Sun Gate, without hiking the full 4-day trail.

Due to its immense archaeological, cultural, and environmental value, access is limited to just 250 people per day, including travelers, guides, and porters.

Important: As required by Peru’s Ministry of Culture, every traveler must secure two official permits:

  • The 2-Day Inca Trail permit
  • The Machu Picchu entrance ticket (limited to 4,600 visitors per day)

This double authorization makes permits sell out even faster, as thousands of travelers from around the world request access daily. We strongly recommend booking 6 to 10 months in advance, especially during high season (May to October).

Check real-time availability with our team.

Both permits are required. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance—book today!

Inca Trail 2 Days

Explore, Connect, and Conquer Machu Picchu

Join a small group of 4 to 6 fellow explorers and share an unforgettable journey through history, breathtaking landscapes, and pure emotion. From Wiñay Wayna to Machu Picchu, this is an authentic, safe, and deeply human experience.

Day 0: A day before the trek – Briefing

DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:
NO ONE

Before the adventure begins, you’ll meet your guide for an informative briefing, where every detail of the trek will be explained. It’s also the perfect moment to meet your fellow travelers, the small team you’ll share this extraordinary journey with.

Day 1: Cusco - Km 104 - Machu Picchu

DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:
MODERATED

Your adventure begins early in the morning. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and take a private transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station. From there, a scenic train ride leads us to Km 104, the official starting point of our trek.

The Sacred Valley unfolds before you with towering mountains, snow-capped peaks, traditional villages, and lush vegetation along the winding Urubamba River.

At Km 104, after passing the checkpoint, our unforgettable hike begins. The first stop: Chachabamba (2,050 m), a hidden archaeological site rich in history. From here, we begin a steady uphill climb of about three hours to reach the magnificent Wiñay Wayna (2,650 m). Here, we’ll admire the perfectly preserved Inca architecture and enjoy our box lunch surrounded by mountain magic.

After a break, we continue on a subtropical trail leading to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). This is the day’s most awaited moment—your first view of Machu Picchu, emerging between emerald peaks and the deep Urubamba canyon. Take your time to absorb the magic, snap that first photo, and share the awe with your group.

We’ll then descend to the upper part of the citadel for a silent first look before taking the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you can unwind at a 3★ hotel or soak in the local hot springs.

Together with your guide, you’ll explore the main areas of Machu Picchu for about 2–3 hours—temples, terraces, plazas, and viewpoints—learning about its history, architecture, and deep symbolism. Each corner tells a story, and your guide will bring it to life with passion and knowledge.

After the guided tour, we return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for lunch or a stroll through town. In the afternoon, we’ll board the Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
