Get Ready for an Epic Adventure!

Day 0: Briefing and Wayki Experience (optional).

One day before the start of the hike, your Inca Trail begins with a Preparation Session with your expert guide to answer questions and ensure logistics. This ensures your peace of mind.

Optionally, choose the “Wayki Experience”: a genuine cultural exchange with the porter community. Meet the team that will take care of you and enrich your journey from the heart of the Andes.

Day 1: (Start of the Inca Trail): Km 82 – Salapunku – Llactapata.

This is where the legend begins. From Km 82, hike alongside the Vilcanota River, discovering Salapunku and Llactapata. With jokes, strong steps, and growing excitement, the path to Machu Picchu begins.

Day 2: Llactapata – Wayllabamba – Llulluchapampa.

Hike through cloud forests and magical valleys. After a break in Wayllabamba, continue to Llulluchapampa. Nature and effort will shape stories you’ll tell for years.

Day 3: Warmiwañusca – Runkurakay – Phuyupatamarca – The Ultimate Challenge.

Time for the big climb: conquer Warmiwañusca Pass (4,215 m) and Runkurakay (3,800 m). Each summit is a shared victory. Through misty jungles and ancient ruins, your bond will only grow stronger.

Day 4: Phuyupatamarca – Wiñay Wayna – Inti Punku – Path to Machu Picchu.

Descend mystical trails to Wiñay Wayna, then reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for your first view of Machu Picchu. A moment of awe and celebration you’ll never forget.

Day 5: Machu Picchu – The Peak of the Journey.

Enter Machu Picchu at sunrise, among the first to walk this Wonder of the World. After a guided tour, enjoy free time to explore or reflect. Your return to Cusco marks the perfect end to this epic journey.

Cancellation Policies

Flexibility for Adventurers

We understand plans can change when traveling with friends. That’s why our policies are clear, fair, and designed to give you peace of mind:

Early Cancellations

More than 30 days before departure:

• Only the initial deposit is retained (used for permits and non-refundable entry tickets issued by the Ministry of Culture)

• You’ll still receive the train and Machu Picchu tickets issued in your name—use them on a future trip!

Between 29 and 11 days before departure:

• 50% of the total cost must be paid

• You’ll receive any confirmed tickets or services in your name

Between 10 and 4 days before departure:

• 80% of the total cost must be paid

• You retain access to issued entrance and transport tickets

No-Show (1–3 days before or not showing up):

• 100% of the total cost must be paid
  Note: Even if you can’t complete the trek, your Machu Picchu tickets remain valid and are yours to use.

If Someone Leaves the Trek Midway

• Unused services are non-refundable

• Wayki Trek will support you in reaching Machu Picchu and joining the final tour with your group if you choose to continue

Passport or Name Changes

• If you update your passport or name, notify us in advance

• In some cases, a new permit will be required
  Tip: Send us copies of your updated documents as early as possible.

Force Majeure Situations

In case of strikes, natural disasters, road blockades, or official closures:

• We’ll offer viable alternatives (routes or new dates)

• No penalties will apply if the change is due to an uncontrollable external event

Important Recommendation:

Purchase travel insurance that covers trekking, medical evacuation, rescheduling, and cancellations due to force majeure.
