This article will guide you through the correct use of drones in Peru.
General Tips
Only use your drone during the day.
Don’t use it in dangerous / hard weather conditions,
Don´t let your drone leave your line of sight.
Don´t fly your drone in an area where you can upset people / animals.
Don´t use your drone in areas with great presence of people.
Don´t use your drone in religious institutions or archaeological sites (check the restrictions).
Don´t fly your drone in areas of military or government use.
Don´t fly your drone within 4kmof airports.
Please, respect other people’s privacy when using your drone.
Where can´t I use my drone?
There are some places where the use of drones is very limited or even restricted.
Some archaeological sites, likeMachu Picchu, If there is some place where you want to use your drone, please consult the personnel in site first.
To use drones at Humantay Lake and Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain first you must get permission from the communities.
To use a drone at Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain you must pay a fee.
The use of drones atSacred Valley is restricted.
In rural areas away from these restricted zones, drone flying is generally permitted, provided that the drone operator follows local regulations. Some spots like parts of the Ausangate Mountain range, or on less crowded treks like Salkantay, may be suitable for drone use, but it is always advisable to check with local authorities or tour guides for specific permissions.
